Choline

Summary: It has been shown that choline is nutritionally critical for normal development of the brain. It comes as no surprise then that the National Academy of Sciences issued a report in 1998 that identified choline as a necessary nutrient and daily supplementation was recommended. For proper functioning of the brain, supplements of choline are needed for enhanced memory function. Changes in memory function can take place as early as in utero and during the first few weeks once supplementation is administered. With this leading to lifelong memory enhancement, it's clear that choline supplementation is an easy way to improve your memory. Changes in diet can boost total choline concentrations when choline-rich food such as beef liver, chicken liver and eggs are consumed regularly, but especially during pregnancy. Improvements in memory are possible with appropriate food choices and supplementation (e.g. choline in the form of focus pills).
